$1.7 trillion FDI created 5 mn jobs in US - Financial Express

Washington: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the United States exceeding USD 1.7 trillion in the last one decade has created more than five million jobs in the US, which on an average paid 30 per cent more than other jobs, an official report said Tuesday. While Indian companies in recent years have increased their investment in the US, India does not figure in the list of top countries in the foreign direct investment list. At present, relatively few countries invest in the United States, said the report issued by the Department of Commerce. In fact, 84 per cent of FDI into the US in 2010 came from or through eight countries: $1.7 trillion FDI created 5 mn jobs in US
