By: Andrei Ptashnikov, The space shuttle Atlantis has landed on Cape Canaveral in Florida with 4 astronauts on board. This is the official end of the US Shuttle Space Program. American shuttles have been launched into space for 30 years. All in all, 6 shuttles have been built, though the first one, Enterprise, was only used for training flights in the atmosphere. As for Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavor, they flew into space on a regular basis.
