PETA wants Lady Gaga as a Lettuce Lady for animal rights

Peta
Lady Gaga has been tipped by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in India to be a lettuce lady in support of animal rights. It comes even as the mega pop star wore an all meat dress  and  shoes  at  the  MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in 2010. “We have already sent a letter with this proposal to Lady Gaga’s management,” Sachin Banjera, a spokesman for India’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) organization said. The move, despite PETA optimism, has been met with scrutiny by many animal rights activists globally, who argue the move is simply a PR stunt and should be focused on those individuals who support animals on a daily basis. “This attempt by PETA just shows how ridiculous they can be in trying to get attention,” said Sonal Rajashi, an Indian animal rights activist who told Bikyamasr.com that she has fallen out of “love for PETA” as a result of its campaigns. “It is really discouraging that they would even ask Lady Gaga to do this considering the singer’s disregard for decency when it comes to animals. She has to be better than this before being asked,” she added. But PETA India disagrees, saying it would be a step in the right direction for the singer and animal rights in the country.Source:  Bikya MasrImage: https://commons.wikimedia.org
