Sanyo HIT modules become Panasonic

Sanyo's HIT photovoltaic modules in Italian solar installationBY: BECKY STUART, PV - Magazine:  As part of a brand consolidation move, Sanyo’s HIT photovoltaic modules will become known as Panasonic HIT modules, as of April 1, 2012. The move is part of a wider effort by the Panasonic Group to consolidate certain consumer products "in order to take advantage of the strengths of each company within the group". The company says that the new branding Sanyo's HIT photovoltaic modules in Italian solar installation
will allow it to merge Sanyo’s solar expertise with its global network. Sanyo became a fully-owned subsidiary of Panasonic’s this year. According to Shigeki Komatsu, director of the Solar Division of Sanyo Component Europe GmbH, "The current manufacturing operations and sales structure will continue under the Panasonic Group. The Group will continue to invest in the solar business, allowing us to offer a higher level of service to our business partners and provide our customers with higher quality, more efficient modules."
