On February 18, the 2nd Red Rocks international festival kicks off in the Russian ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana, where alpine ski racers held a series of training sessions earlier this week. The Voice of Russia’s Tatyana Zavyalova has more on the festival which she says has already got the status of participant in the Cultural Olympics “Sochi-2014”.The unique high mountain resort Krasnaya Polyana is located 70 kilometers from the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi which is due to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2014. Just 70 kilometers separate the subtropical zone of the Black Sea coast from the snow-covered mountain peaks, where preparations for the 2014 Olympics are in full swing. These efforts include the 2012 Alpine Ski World Cup, which will be held between February 18 and February 19.
