IBM is granted patent for multitouch floor

InAVate: Is nothing safe from the multitouch phenomenon? IBM has been granted a patent in the USA for a security system that would turn a floor into a multitouch surface that recognises who's standing on it. Once it senses an unauthorised person standing on it, it can sound alarms or call the police, just like traditional house alarms.IBM also says that the system could be used to recognise if a person was lying down on the floor in an unexpected location for a period time and automatically trigger a call to the emergency services. Source: InAVate
