By Dmitry Zuyev: The Titanic Museum, a round-the-world voyage to commemorate the victims of the Titanic disaster, films and books about Titanic, declaring the remains of the ship passengers a property of mankind under the protection of UNESCO – what is it? Some people say that all this is Titanicomania. It would have been good to sink it for the second time, others say. However, there are people who say that this is none other than business. Tourist and show business, and that’s all.There is one more thing here though. For example, that business – if any – is impossible without the demand that at times is artificially created – of course, with the help of advertising and the like. However, in this case, no investments were made in advertising. Nobody is showing a great deal of interest in Titanic today in view of the 100th anniversary of its sinking. There is some fuss on that score, but it is not as great as it was after the film Titanic by James Cameron was released in 1997. There were many films that were dedicated to the above-mentioned subject but the most wide-scale and successful of all was the film Titanic. And all its expenses were quickly repaid.
