Rs6 lakh crore deals in Kiran Kumar Reddy's kitty

The state government has signed 243 Memoranda of Understanding that will bring in investment of Rs 6,78,597 crore, during the two-day Partnership Summit 2012, which concluded at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here on Friday. The MoUs will create direct employment for 6,78,597 persons. Another major achievement of the summit was the keen interest expres-sed by the government of Kuwait in investing in the Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Industrial Region. Kuwait’s Ambassador to India, Mr Samie Mohammad Al-Suleiman, met Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and discussed investments in petrol and petrochemical projects besides gas distribution. He was leading a business delegation to the Partnership Summit 2012. The Kuwait government is looking at the G2G (government to government) model. “I told the ambassador ‘You are most welcome’,” said a visibly joyous Chief Minister. Buoyed by the success of the state in attracting huge investments, the Chief Minister, in an excl-usive talk with this newspaper, said he would str-ive hard to translate these proposals into reality. “We have firmed up projects with investment of Rs 2 lakh-crore and they will materialise in a year or so. There are no second thoughts about it,” the Chief Minister said firmly. “I will personally monitor the progress every month.” Source: Deccan Chronicle
