Harold van Beek, owner of Jewelry by Harold in North Liberty, Iowa, offers a free voucher for a hunting rifle to anyone who purchases an engagement ring valued at $1,999 or more. The voucher for a Remington 870 hunting rifle can be redeemed at local retailer. Those who wish to take this offer must be eligible under Iowa law to be a gun owner. Iowa is a "shall-issue" state. This means gun owners must obtain a permit issued from a local sheriff's department and must complete a gun safety course. The Remington 870 is typically used for hunting and sport shooting but is also kept by some people for home defense. The standard price for the rifle is around $500.
