Madame: Moving ahead with plans to launch 100 EBOs

Optimistic about the forthcoming winter season, women’s western wear brand Madame expects it to bring good results. Bipan Jain, CMD, Jain Amar Clothing explains, “Last winter we achieved our targets but it was a bit difficult. This year, on a pan-India basis, there may be slightly low sentiments but as far as North India is concerned, the upcoming winter business should be fine. The reason is that average temperatures are still very comfortable. We have already shipped the autumn/winter collection and we are getting repeats.” With the introduction of footwear range at its EBOs and making western clothing available for all age groups, which was earlier restricted to teenagers and young mothers, the company has been able to reach out to a wider target audience. The product portfolio includes a complete array of women’s western apparel and accessories like tops, jeans, shorts, jackets, blazers, shirts, sweat shirts, pullovers, T-shirts, dresses, footwear and fashion jewelry. “Two seasons back, we also introduced Madame Junior. These are tops for summer and sweat shirts and jackets for winter for kids between 4 to 15 years and is only retailed through MBOs,” Jain explains. While working on the target of becoming a market leader in women’s wear category internationally, Madame’s range is available through 700 MBOs, LFS stores and 94 EBOs spread over 17 states, 55 cities nationally and internationally. It has established presence in Saudi Arabia, Nepal and Bhutan. With a steady 35 per cent growth year-on-year, company is close to achieving its target of launching 100 stores this year. The company already has an active e-shopping platform in place since last three to four years and strategic tie-ups are being undertaken with other e-commerce portals to market the product. Incepted by CL Duggar in 1939, Jain Amar Clothing has been working on its mission of offering contemporary design, quality product and customer service, which is synonymous to the company ever since. The company has been engaged in the manufacturing of fashion apparels and allied accessories, with products ranging from women’s western wear to men’s scarves and Merino wool thermals to kid’s wear – all produced and marketed individually. Today Jain Amar is a fourth generation company and has been marketing the brand Madame for the last two decades. Jain exclaims, “Madame can undoubtedly be positioned as the largest single brand women’s western wear retailer in the country with a strong retail presence across India. Quality is what has kept the company moving got generations and it enjoys about 10 per cent market share in the represented areas.”Source: Fashion United
