The world's largest outdoor skating rink has opened its first season on Rideau Canal in the Canadian capital Ottawa.
Only a 2,2 kilometer stretch is presently functioning, since that is the only section where the ice has thickened to 30 centimeters. It is anticipated that if cold temperatures persist, skating fans will be able to enjoy a skateway of 7.8 kilometers. The rink’s area may reach 165.6 thousand square meters.
