By: Volkhonsky Boris, On Tuesday, Reuters reported that the U.S. has eased some restrictions on Myanmar (still referred to by some authors as Burma) to support ongoing work by International Financial Institutions like the Asian Development Bank carrying out economic assessments and technical assistance to its new government. This decision came as a follow-up to December’s visit to Myanmar by the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during which she pledged to forge closer ties with Myanmar.
