Crackdown on NGOs in Egypt

By Kim Brown, Rob Sachs, Jessica Jordan, Elly Mui,: The recent unrest in Egypt has left many dead with 43 pro-democracy groups under investigation for politically destabilizing the country through foreign aid. U.S. officials are weary of relations with Egypt as the crackdown on non-government organizations in Egypt has threatened its 1.3 billion dollars of annual U.S. military aid. be threatened due to the crackdowns on NGO groups. Over the past 30 years Egypt has received the second largest funding of foreign aid right behind Israel averaging around 2 billion dollars a year.
