LG Electronics’ ultra-slim laptop computer “Gram 14” is gaining high popularity, selling one unit per every three minutes. According to industry sources on March 30, the Gram 14, which was released on January 14, 2015, has been sold more than 500 units a day. The weekly sales of the Gram 14, in particular, during this period, reached more than 2,000 units, the fastest sales pace among the laptop computers LG Electronics has released so far. This is extraordinary, considering that the sales of new laptops, in general, decline from March after peaking in February when students are busy preparing for going back to school. An industry official said, “The Gram 14 maintains its sales pace even in late March. Thanks to its lightweight and slim design, it is favored by female consumers.” With a 14-inch screen, the Gram 14 has a weight of 980 grams, making it easier for users to carry. Ultra-slim laptops are gaining popularity not only in Korea but worldwide. According to market research firm Gartner, the annual growth rate of the global ultra-slim laptop market averaged at 35.3 percent over the past three years. Source: Article
