By Mi Xingang: The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) recently released the Global Peace Index (GPI) for 2015, which ranks 162 nations around the world based on how peaceful they are. The indicators cover the level of social security, involvement in conflicts, and the degree of militarization. Geographically, Europe is still the most peaceful region as six out of the top 10 peaceful nations are European, with Iceland, Denmark and Austria occupying the top three positions. The Asia-Pacific region has also stayed in the lead, with New Zealand, Japan and Australia ranking the fourth, eighth and ninth respectively.
