China is the largest country to invest in clean energy among 55 emerging markets, according to Climatescope, a comprehensive index assessing the environment for low-carbon investment in emerging market nations. Based on the Climatescope 2015, China remains at the top of the list with the score of 2.29 out of a maximum of 5. Last year, the country added 35 gigawatts of new, renewable power generating capacity on its own, and invested $89 billion in new clean energy.
