PM Modi mother visits bank to exchange notes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped the two biggest currency notes, on last Tuesday. It seems that the PM's 95-year-old mother has also not been exempted from standing in the queue. On Tuesday morning, Modi's mother Heeraben visited a bank in Gandhinagar of Gujarat to exchange the old Rs. 500 notes. She reportedly came on a wheelchair to the bank but walked after her arrival. Reports further added that she stood in the long queue, just like any other person. With the assistance of a group of people at the bank, she signed the necessary documents and reportedly exchanged the notes. After receiving the newly issued Rs. 2,000 note, the old lady posed for the shutterbugs too.Interim, the situation at banks is slowly getting better, it is reported. The rush has come down marginally and the normalcy is expected to return after two weeks, once the recalibration of ATMs is done. Source: IndionTV
