The Trump administration has imposed a ban on US transactions with China’s ByteDance, owner of video-sharing app TikTok.
US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the matter on Thursday.
The decision was made to ensure the national security of the United States. The ban will take effect in 45 days as ByteDance will not be able to make any financial transactions with the United States from September 20.
On the same day, President Donald Trump also issued another executive order banning U.S. transactions with Chinese tech firms Tencent owning the messaging service WeChat. Source: https://www.daily-bangladesh.com/
